Some Caveat

I must admit that I did not know where to start when I first visited the site. The 18 modules may appear overwhelming. The platform can help you plan out your storyline and architect your world in the story. But you must guard yourself and make sure you are not stuck at the planning stage and linger on filling out the modules. Decide not to be distracted by the modules because you may be sidetracked instead of allowing your story to move forward. If you’re working on a piece that does not require complex or intense world-building, you may find the platform excessive.

One of the good features of the platform is that you can directly work inside it or import an in-progress manuscript from another word processor, like docx and epub. You also have the option to publish your own e-story through the Publishing Dashboard. Once your book is approved, you can monetize your story by linking your account to Stripe, which is Campfire’s payment processor. Once your digital book gains traction, the platform can give you a 40–80% royalty depending on the range of purchases you earn.

You can also monetize individual elements like your characters’ profiles, images or artworks, and other world-building notes by packaging them as “extras.” It’s a unique feature that allows your readers to access added-value content beyond your main book.
